The Radio Frequency Interference (RFI) test method used by ADEMCO's Quality Assurance department is superior to the methods used by most other manufacturers. A Transverse ElectroMagnetic (TEM) cell used by most other manufacturers is a small chamber in which products are placed and then irradiated with RF energy at an established level to try to induce a false alarm. Unfortunately, TEM cells are susceptible to standing waves and other phenomena which have a tendency to overstate the level of immunity.
